Melissa Smet (1991) is the Executive Director of the Syndicate of the Belgian Diamond Industry (SBD), the employers’ organization that represents the common interests of the Belgian diamond manufacturers, traders, brokers, gemological institutes and polishers of gemstones.

She holds a Master of Laws degree and specializes in the regulation applicable in the diamond sector, employment law and social security.

In November 2019, she was appointed as a Judge in Social Affairs of the Labour Court of Mechelen (Antwerp, Belgium).

Meslkisa also runs IDMA’s daily affairs from her office at the SBD.
