Throughout its 77-year history, IDMA’s members have represented the interests of their countries’ manufacturing hubs, i.e., securing a steady and reliable supply of rough diamonds.
Since the turn of the century, most rough diamond production has been in fewer hands. With much less rough available in the secondary market shrunk, many small and medium-sized manufacturers needed to adapt to the new market conditions. However, as diamond manufacturing increases in various diamond-producing African countries, IDMA’s membership will undoubtedly expand.
